We also purchase unique pieces that
please the eye – either for the collector or other
buyer who will value their fabric, embroidery and colors.
Some of the miscellaneous items in our current collection
include:
• Alsatian coiffes
(small headpieces or caps) from the 19th C, in
silks and velvets with lace and beading. A real collectors’ item.
Quantity 4.
• Wonderful
bedding for baby’s bassinette or crib, including
fine cotton sheets and little pillowcases with peach
appliquéd rabbits, a blue set with moon and stars,
and a green quilt, sheet and pillowcase set printed with
a Breton children’s story scene. 5 sets.
•
A few adorable infants’ white dresses or coats,
perfect for christening, c1940s.
• A
lovely and elegant collection of vintage lace and beaded
trims from a 1900s Paris couture house, plus other small
laces, collars and trims.
• An
extensive collection of torchons, the wonderful
old linen dish towels and the larger kitchen towels that
served in the past to wrap hams for curing – and
now dry glassware and dishes so brilliantly, as well
as being very decorative kitchen accessories. They come
mainly in red/white and blue/white, some with monograms.
• Another
extensive collection of hand towels or guest towels,
some with fringe, others with monograms – some
are grand and absolutely elegant for your bath or a guest
bath. Some of them could also serve as small dresser
scarves or covers for tea trays. |
